HDD Swap on two PS3s on CFW?

Hey people, I think this is pretty much a no unless someone has managed to do something and not mentioned it but is there any possibility of taking a HDD out of one PS3 on CFW (3.55) and into another (also on 3.55) as opposed to backing up the data etc?

I would have to transfer some 500gbs of data so if there is ANY way then that would be great but I haven't ever heard of someone beating the decryption/hdd set to one PS3 rule without formatting.
