Look...first off....i'm an experienced forum member in many, many forums and offer advice on different things not PS3 related. I know how forums (and members with lots of posts) work...so i'm not an idiot and I don't treat noobs as idiots either since we've all had to learn at some point or another...so i'm hoping I get the same respect here.
I know how to look at sticky's first to get what i'm looking for. But sometimes the sticky's don't necessarily answer the exact question you want to ask...hence the reason for this.
I have PS3 cech 2501B....the firmware was (mistakenly) upgraded to 4.31.
From what i've read, the cech 3000 series cannot be downgraded. Nor can anything be done about 4.31 firmware with software...only hardware manipulation. I haven't seen anything regarding the 2500 series...if its there, I havent looked hard enough and missed it.
My question is...can I do software downgrade because its a 2500 series. If not, can I format the drive and install an earlier firmware version as if it were a new drive or is it stuck on the mainboard in its own version of the "bios" and there's nothing I can do about it. Can you flash the bios?
If there is something I can do, I would appreciate either a link or some direction on how to do it....that way, if it works, I can do my part in this community and share it with others when they ask without offering smarky remarks.
cheers!! :)
PS...sorry, to make it clear, I am very computer "tech" oriented. However, I have never attempted to "jailbreak" any systems I have.
