What does AIOMOD.BIN do in multiMAN 04.xx?

What does AIOMOD.BIN do exactly ? ( still haven't updated from mM v2)

Does it play games without original disk in drive?

Can AIOMOD.BIN be copied from the full version to the Minimal/Bare version for the same functionality?
