is a dongle key needed to play backups 3.60+ on 3.55?

i know you guys are gonna kill me but i love you .. anyways ive been away from the ps3 scene for over a year now i went abroad anyways i have games like Saints Row the Third and Skyrim and others that are 3.6+ firware.. i got back and they got this true blue dongle in every post so my question is

Is the true blue dongle needed to play 3.60+ backups or any dongle in that case?

im on 3.55 kmeaw firmware
