Newbieee to the ps3 scene ... need help PS3 40GB

Hi im new to the ps3 hacking scene have been flashing xboxs for a couple of years and thought i would give ps3 a try out! i understand that you can run true blue cfw etc i just have a few questions.

1.can you play online with a jailbroken ps3

2.do you need to buy anything other then the ps3

3.is there latest firmware to play the latest games i.e prototype 2 etc etc

any help to get me started would be much appreciated
