So, after looking at some threads, I realized that you have to connect to someone with via IP that has CFW. However, if nobody is willing to do that, RickDangerous is willing to make a program from a dump of one of these transfers to emulate a PS3 for these purposes;

I would like to get in on this before I update to OFW 4. I'm currently on 3.73. The reason I have to update is because I want to gameshare with someone again (already have a connection with them). This brings me to my next point. What are the limitations of the Data transfer utility? I recently purchased a PS3 for a friend and it came with 3.66. With the PSN purchases (games and DLC) I have, can I simply transfer them over?
However, I've seen on many forums like this, that after November 18th, it would be with the initial two. Can anyone confirm this?
Lastly, I didn't mention it too much but apparently there is a method in which you can transfer things via VPN, firewire and a laptop to your PS3. Some people say it works, many do not agree. Some say you need an actual PS3 running CFW for this to work, or at the very least, the IP of one.
If anyone can help me with any of this, that would be appreciated.
Thank you,
RandySavage
