are these true and still work?

Hi i am very new here and recently i have been thinking about jail breaking my ps3 i have not done it yet because i have heard that you cant play your back games online because sony will see that you used a backup manager or something and possibly ban you but all the information i found about cant play and can play online is a bit old so i want to show you guys some links to forums and post ive seen here and from another site yesterday and today and i just want to know if what these people are saying are true and still work because if they are true then i dont see why you cant play online and even if you get banned you can still get online but i will show you what i saw

I am really interested in the links that talk about preventing your ps3 from sending sony the info about what you are doing on your console so they cant get reason to ban you unless you are doing something stupid and get reported for being mean or cheating online
